கவி காளமேகம்

கவி காளமேகம் 15ம் நூற்றாண்டை சேர்ந்த தமிழ் புலவர். அவரது வஞ்ச புகழ்ச்சி பாடல்கள் படிக்காத பாமரர்களுக்கும் பரிச்சயம் உண்டு. முருக பெருமானை இகழ்வது போல் புகழ்ந்து பாடிய பாடல் இதோ

அப்பன் இரந்துஉண்ணி; ஆத்தாள் மலைநீலி;
ஒப்பறிய மாமன் உறிதிருடி;--சப்பைக்கால்
அண்ணன் பெருவயிறன்; ஆறுமுகத்தானுக்கு இங்கு
எண்ணும் பெருமை இவை.

Kavi Kalamegam was a Tamil poet of 15th century, well known for his sarcastic poetry, popular among even illiterates in Tamil country. Here he says about Lord Muruga in a ridiculing words but really he boast the Lord.

His (lord muruga's) Father , a beggar asking for alms, Mother, a tribe of hill, unmatched uncle- a theif, flat footed brother has belly pot. These are the prides of Lord Muruga.
